Verdi -
Verdi is an adult female kitty who is very tolerant and sweet. She is already spayed and loves to snuggle on your lap. She was found alongside a major highway with a broken leg and part of her tail in very bad shape. Verdi was taken to the local shelter where she was immediately transported to the vet. Her leg could not be set since it showed a previous break which had not healed properly. Due to the injury of her tail, part of it had to be amputated.

After many weeks of confinement at the vet's office, Verdi came to the Tails of Hope Cattery. At first she was afraid of the other cats, especially since she could not jump and walked with a limp. However, after some TLC she has healed and adjusted very well and likes to be loved and played with. She is looking for a loving home where she could be the only kitty and would never be cold and frightened again.

Verdi is being fostered in the Columbia area.

	Cat vaccinations Vaccinations are given to cats in order to help their immune system fight off disease. If the mother was properly vaccinated prior to pregnancy, most kittens will receive protective antibodies through nursing, primarily during the first twenty-four hours of life.
	Pet grooming Whether your favorite pet is a cat or a dog, correct grooming is often necessary to keep them comfortable and happy. Grooming requires more than simply brushing and bathing.
	Spaying or neutering your dog Each year, millions of healthy, friendly puppies are put to sleep because there's simply no one to care for them. If you're an animal lover, that in itself should be enough to make you do your part to prevent pet overpopulation.
	Administering medication to cats Many cats are a lot like children. They're lively, playful, and absolutely hate to take medicine. There are several ways to get around this. Sometimes medication can be hidden inside food, but if it's bad-tasting, your cat might simply refuse to eat it.
	Saltwater fish care Okay, so you've gone through the whole aquarium routine and have it down pat. If you feel you're ready for the big time, a saltwater tank will give you a whole new set of challenges.
	Preventing heartworms Heartworm disease is a very serious canine disease, responsible for killing thousands of dogs each year. The canine heartworm lives as a parasite in the bloodstream, especially the heart, of a dog.
	Caring for boas Most of the boas you find for sale will be listed as 'red-tailed' boas. While this is a definite species, the name is generically applied as a marketing term.
	Veterinary medicine employment outlook The job outlook for most areas of veterinary medicine is expected to be fairly good. Experts predict that veterinary employment will grow faster than the average of all other occupations through the year 2006 (two thousand six).
	Should I call the vet? Assuming that your dog is in good health, an annual checkup and vaccination is generally all that's needed to keep him healthy. Still, there are emergency situations when your pet will need immediate attention.
	Selecting a dog Choosing a dog is pretty much a matter of what you want in one. Do you want companionship? Something for the kids to play with? Do you want a working dog, or one for hunting or ranching? Maybe you just want the comfortable feeling of companionship and unconditional love.
