A Catonsville man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the murder of his girlfriend, Cherice Ragins.

Ragins disappeared on February 21, 2010, and was never heard from or seen again. At the time of her disappearance, Ragins was dating Travis Elleby.

Baltimore County Police conducted an investigation and found that Elleby was the last person seen with Ragins, and phone records show they were fighting and he had said he wanted to kill her.

A trial was held in November of 2017 where Elleby was found responsible for Ragins' death.

Elleby was also previously convicted of two counts of armed robbery in 2005 and an attempted robbery in 2015.
