People experiencing homelessness in Baltimore got a break from the bitter cold and had the opportunity to celebrate the holidays this weekend.

Around 500 people had a holiday feast at First Unitarian Church of Baltimore’s Pratt Hall on Saturday. Guests enjoyed live music and food that highlights the season of giving.

“The Holiday Party for the Homeless welcomes people in for a festive break from the cold winter streets,” says Bonnie 'Raven' Lane.  “Our homeless guests will leave with gifts that we hope will help sustain them throughout the winter.”

Lane was homeless herself, so she decided to spearhead the event and give back. She is also collected donations for those experiencing homelessness.

Also in attendance was 12-year-old Adriana who has donated her Christmas to buying toys for the homeless. She hopes to collect enough toys for 50 homeless children.
