The wife of a late Maryland State Senator will inherit her husbands seat.

Governor Larry Hogan on Tuesday announced the appointment of Linda Norman to the Maryland Senate. Norman will represent District 35 including parts of Harford and Cecil Counties.

For the past 25 years, Norman served as office manager at a Bel Air law firm, previously serving as treasurer of the Harford County Republican Club.

Senator H. Wayne Norman died on March 4, unexpectedly in his sleep. He was 62.
