Another round of snow, ice, sleet and rain will be likely this Saturday as Winter makes its return to Maryland. The Baltimore area will experience deteriorating conditions during the day on Saturday into Saturday night. A few things will be in our favor with this system, which could reduce the impacts.
A Warm Lead In:
We've been above freezing for nearly 72 hours, which gives us the upper hand with salt effectiveness and snow melting on contact. It's wise to still take it easy out there on the roads during the day Saturday since the temperatures will be dropping a full 24 hours before the snow, ice and sleet arrive. The greatest potential for snow accumulation will be towards the Maryland / Pennsylvania state line since temperatures will be closer to 32° during the event. Areas closer to I-95 will experience some mixing along with the snow.

Just a Glancing Blow:
Temperatures are expected to rebound fairly quickly into next week, where we'll see temps bounce back into the upper 60s and 70s once again followed by some above average days.
